There’s nothing better than a warm oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. These are super chewy, packed with oats and melty chocolate chips, and they have just the right amount of sweetness. They’re perfect with a cup of coffee, or you can snack on them anytime.
Ingredients:
- For the cookies:
- 1 cup butter (softened)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
- Optional decorations:
- Ribbon to tie up the cookies
- Cinnamon sticks or dried citrus slices for a cute touch
Instructions:
- Make the dough:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream the butter and sugars together until it’s light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla, and mix everything together.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if you want it).
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix until everything’s just combined.
- Stir in the oats and chocolate chips.
- Form the cookies:
- Scoop the dough into tablespoon-sized balls and place them on a baking sheet.
- Lightly flatten each ball with a spoon.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the center is still soft. Let them cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to finish cooling.
- Optional decoration:
- If you want to give these as a gift or just make them look fancy, tie them up with a ribbon. Add a few cinnamon sticks or dried citrus slices around them for a little extra flair.
These cookies are soft, chewy, and just the right amount of sweet. You can keep them for yourself or share them with family and friends. Either way, they’re going to be a hit! Enjoy!
